When should Philadelphia be opened?

The world is hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and America is the worst affected country in the world with over 70,000 fatalities and over 5,00,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Although, due to the massive steps taken by the American Central and state governments, as to the mass testing of Coronavirus and lockdown orders, it has been able to control the spread of the virus somehow. Though, the lockdown orders are taking a toll on its economy.

So, to bring back life to normal, as many as 23 states throughout the USA have lifted the stay at home orders this week and are taking necessary steps towards reopening the businesses and resuming public activities.

So the question arises, is it the time Philadelphia should be opened too? But reopening the state formula is far more complex than many people think.

When should Philadelphia be opened?
When should Philadelphia be opened?

The governor of Pennsylvania has planned a three-phase lifting of the lockdown measures and in accordance with it only, the counties within it will be reopened.

The countries which have reported less than 50 cases per 1,00,000 over the last 14 days will be slated to reopen. So far, 24 counties have fulfilled the criteria. Going by these measures, any level of the reopening of Philadelphia is a little while away.

So the question which still is unanswered is when is Philadelphia finally going to reopen. To reopen, it will need to confirm with the norms set up by the governor.

Philadelphia has been reporting almost 463 new cases every day for the last 7 days. That’s still a pretty high number. It has a long way to go. At first, it has to develop a thorough mechanism of rapid testing so that anyone can be tested on demand so that one person who has been affected by the virus gets detected before he transmits the virus to others.

It also has to bring down its daily new cases so as to come in a position where lockdown can be eased. The participation of the Philadelphia residents will be very much required in this phase so as to eliminate this virus. Through a persistent fight, we hope that finally, we will wake up to a Morning when the virus is no more.

And till then, stay tuned with us for more such latest updates.
